My wife was contacted a couple months ago by a friend who needed some headshots and wanted to also shoot a cool, modern pin-up set to kick start a new modeling portfolio. One thing led to another and my wife had found a killer hotel in Palm Springs to shoot at, we had a makeup artist on board, and the date was booked!

We stayed at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club, which had some of the coolest rooms I’ve ever stayed in. As soon as my wife and I saw how cool this hotel was from their website, we knew it would be a fun place to shoot. Our room had a California King sized bed with all kinds of retro decor, including a record player and some cool old photos pinned up on the slotted wall behind the bed. The other cool thing about our room was that it had a large patio with an outdoor fireplace and a sweet egg-shaped rocking chair… which you will see below. To say the least, we knew this would yield some killer photos.

We arrived on Saturday afternoon, got settled in and shot for a couple hours that night after the sun dropped. We utilized the room, the patio with the fireplace and also a bigger fireplace out in the common grounds of the hotel. The next day we got up and shot for nearly another two hours in that nice, soft, glowing natural light… my favorite! Check out the photos below, starting with the night session…

The high temp was 115 degrees while we were there!! That fireplace did not help matters… but ya gotta get the shot!!  =)

Seriously… awesome.

She rocked those glasses like none other!…

These next four images were shot in the curtained entry-way into our patio. I love me some enveloping backlight!!

Thanks again to everyone who came out and made this shoot so much fun. Sarah, Heather, Heidi and Jason… you guys are the best!

So… about a month ago, I had the pleasure of shooting some headshots for a girl by the name of Jeana Docter. It was one of those shoots where I had no real idea of what exactly we were going to shoot. I knew they were casting headshots… I knew I was going ot be shooting in a new location, completely un-scouted… and that’s it.

I pulled up to meet Jeana in Burbank and we headed out towards Griffith Park and made a nice little photo hike out of it. We shot 3 different looks in what seemed like no time at all and walked away with some killer shots. It’s amazing how many nice little spots you’ll find, on the fly, to shoot at when you REALLY look for them.

Here is a taste of what we captured…

If you need headshots and are in the LA area, please call and/or email me for pricing and options!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting Angela for her portfolio. She needed some new content for agency submissions, so we headed to one of my favorite locations in Glendora and knocked out some beautiful photos. Take a look at some of my favorites from the shoot…

I’m curently working on some headshots that I will be sharing via blog-land of various actors and models…

…stay tuned.  =)

As promised, here I am with another set of amazing wedding photos. I was so stoked to shoot, again, alongside Michael Norwood on this one. Especially since this wedding had so many awesome details. Florals (and they were gorgeous, might I add) were done by Square Root and the whole day was coordinated by the amazing Kerrie Underhill.

Check out this bouquet!

I followed the bride to the Nixon Library, stole some shots of her arrival and then ran up to where Kyle and his groomsmen were hanging out to capture him reading Lauren’s note… NINJA!  =)

I love this shot of the reflecting pool. The ceremony was held on the grass at the other end of this… such an awesome venue!

I really like this personal moment captured during the ceremony…

Some of the most stellar details I’ve seen at any wedding I’ve been to…

My absolute favorite thing, though, is to catch those REAL moments…

*Knock Knock* … is this thing still on? I know, I know. It’s been forever since I’ve blogged. I promise to make a better effort at updating this site… hold me to it!

Well, to kick off the new steady flow of blog posts, I wanted to share 1 of 2 weddings I recently shot with Michael Norwood. Michael is a very talented photographer based out of Mission Viejo, CA. Many of you fellow photographers have heard his name in one way or another. It was a pleasure shooting alongside him… he is very laid back, has a lot of fun doing what he does and really connects with those that he shoots. Good times and I hope to work with him again.

Anyway… let’s get on to the photos. This first wedding I’m sharing with you was shot in Oceanside on the rooftop of a 4-unit condo. The location was incredibly nice, modern and not to mention… right on the beach! This couple had some very talented people put this together for them, including Bethany at Splendid Sentiments handling some pretty amazing florals.

I’ll be back tomorrow (YES, tomorrow) with another wedding that I shot with Mr. Norwood at The Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, CA… Talk at ya then!

Hello blog-land! As promised, I am back with more photos from the shoot I recently did with Jenny Rainwater. She is a local actor, animal lover and all-around awesome person to be around. Not to mention… she photogtraphs REALLY well too.  ;)

This past Saturday, I met up with her at a gorgeous house in the Hollywood Hills. Seriously… gorgeously awesometastic! Big open windows along the entire back end of the house with killer hardwood floors and creamy white walls. It was the PERFECT place to shoot. Plus, I think I ran over Heidi and Spencer on my way up the hill… okay, not really. As I was saying… we shot around 6-7 looks for Jenny’s new casting headshots which took about 4 hours. It felt like 2. We had lots of fun. Constant jokes, a few beers, lots of exposures… yup, fun.

If you’d like to Jenny in her element, then you HAVE to watch this clip. I got a chance to see the live version of this one night, and it had me rollin’. Jenny Rainwater and Brandon Reece play siblings trying to make it out in “La La Land” as a pair of jingle writers…  watch HERE.

Anyway… on with photos! Thanks again Jenny for being so awesome and making my day easy. Brandon and Angie… you guys rock! Can’t wait to come see you guys again… soon!
