Hello blog-land! As promised, I am back with more photos from the shoot I recently did with Jenny Rainwater. She is a local actor, animal lover and all-around awesome person to be around. Not to mention… she photogtraphs REALLY well too.
This past Saturday, I met up with her at a gorgeous house in the Hollywood Hills. Seriously… gorgeously awesometastic! Big open windows along the entire back end of the house with killer hardwood floors and creamy white walls. It was the PERFECT place to shoot. Plus, I think I ran over Heidi and Spencer on my way up the hill… okay, not really. As I was saying… we shot around 6-7 looks for Jenny’s new casting headshots which took about 4 hours. It felt like 2. We had lots of fun. Constant jokes, a few beers, lots of exposures… yup, fun.
If you’d like to Jenny in her element, then you HAVE to watch this clip. I got a chance to see the live version of this one night, and it had me rollin’. Jenny Rainwater and Brandon Reece play siblings trying to make it out in “La La Land” as a pair of jingle writers… watch HERE.
Anyway… on with photos! Thanks again Jenny for being so awesome and making my day easy. Brandon and Angie… you guys rock! Can’t wait to come see you guys again… soon!

So… I thought I would share a little gem that I stumbled upon in Pasadena the other night. While strolling through old town I came across this cool little artist colony nestled back in what looked like an alley way behind a restaurant. I noticed a sign propped up against the wall explaining that it was basically an artists colony with art supplies and a little courtyard to hang out and “get your Picasso on.” Yes I just said that… don’t judge me! =)
Anyway, I walked back into the courtyard and immediately felt like I walked into a scene from Alice in Wonderland. Little paintings, sculptures, unfinished works propped up on easels… and then I looked up and saw this…

Good thing I had my camera with me! I whipped out my 85mm and got this on the first click. It is such an awesome image… So many little images, inside images, inside images, inside… well you can see what I mean. This will definitely be printed on something very LARGE and hung up at home. It’s gonna be my new little reminderto step out of the business of photography and back into the fun, spontaneous, artistic side from time to time.
Anyway… I hope you like the photo as much as I do. I would love to hear you thoughts/feedback. I would actually love to get a lot of the local photographers in the area together for a photo walk in the very near future. I don’t care if it’s a head shot exchange, landscapes, textures, animals, bums… it would be fun! Those of you photographers that follow my blog or are here for the first time, let me know if you’d be interested. If I can get enough people, we should definitely do this.
Until then, happy shooting!
-Shawn
P.S. - Why don’t I have any more shots of the rest of the place, you ask? Well… it was getting VERY dark and the only light coming into that little area was through that little magnifying glass installation above me. Any other shots would have been beyond artistically grainy and/or waaaaay under-exposed. There’s always next time. =)

A couple days ago, I had the opportunity to shoot Ashley Kopaskie for her modeling portfolio. She is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet… and one hell of a trooper too! We put this together pretty fast and gave ourselves a very short time bracket to shoot it in.
We shot in one of my favorite locations in the foothills near my home. The light was phenomenal, the weather was perfect and the bugs… well, they were everywhere. They seemed to love Ashley quite a bit, too. =)
So, in an hours time we were set, shot and wrapped up and headed home. I am VERY happy with these photos and I can only hope that Ashley loves them as much as I do.
Enjoy!

My absolute favorite of the day…
